February 24th, 2022. That was the day the unthinkable act of unjust war took part. On this day, Russian President Vladimir Putin unjustifiably attacked Ukraine.

As a world, we were shocked. As a world, we were shaken. As a world, we were angered. Now imagine being in that war.

We can't. We aren't there. So what can we do? What can we do to ease the severe trauma and pain that the people of Ukraine are facing every day?

Over a year later, I see many reasons to give back and many ways to do so. I am doing my best to take advantage of these opportunities. Please follow in my footsteps.

I will also echo Kelsie Kimberlin's words, and please share #StandWithUkraine any chance you get on social media. It's one of the reasons I am still on social media.

Kelsie spent many childhood summers in Ukraine, and the war between Russia and Ukraine has weighed heavy on her. In her words, she has been deeply affected so she will be releasing a number of songs this year about Ukraine, the war, and her feelings during this difficult time.

Spoof I Wonder | Introduction

On March 6th, she released her newest single, "Spoof I Wonder." The release depicts the horrors of war as seen by award-winning photojournalist Andriy Dubchak who has been documenting the war, including at the front line. Her visual and vocal performance attempts to express the profound pain and suffering the war has brought to her and so many Ukrainians.

The song is written around a classical motif as a cantata with hints from Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata. This puts the listener in a sorrowful and contemplative mood, made even more unbearable by the build through the chorus.

She asks everyone to do what they can. The best way to do this is to share the hashtag #StandWithUkraine. You can also show your support by giving to numerous charities.

Spoof I Wonder | Song Review

There's so much heaviness in Kelsie's voice in this song, and it is so hard to unravel. I pray this to be a therapeutic release for her. It's a beautiful song, for sure. I love the lines, "Who thought of this idea?" It's a chilling line that echoes my thoughts when hearing the tragic news the day Ukraine was being invaded.

The song does a fantastic job transporting us back over a year ago when it was baffling to think such hatred could happen. I would love her to go forward with this theme after we all swallowed the harsh reality that this was happening. I would love to hear what it's like to wake up every day to see this happening and what it feels like to see this happen to her people. It's vulnerable, and it's hard. But it's also therapeutic.

Spoof I Wonder | Video Review

The video itself could be more powerful. For one, a background description would be fitting to explain the reason behind the title. The critical part behind the song needs to be highlighted.

Also, I would like to see more context behind the photos displayed on the wall. What do they mean to her, and why? The music video only centers around a wall, pictures, and a painted heart. As a big fan of Kelsie's work, I want to see a little more than that.

I am intrigued to see what else is coming this year for Kelsie's releases, and I want to know if she takes these words and molds them into her actions.

Spoof I Wonder | #StandWithUkraine

My intentions to support Ukraine and the #StandWithUkraine movement are from the bottom of my heart. However, if you ever think of reading this article and walk away with a sour taste, you have yet to hear what I am saying honestly.

What I am saying may be a tall order to be more vulnerable. However, I am not saying that the music video doesn't reflect enough.

The fact that Kelsie made this music video is far from enough. However, there's certainly room for improvement.

I want Kelsie to know as a world; we all hope this war will end soon. What is happening is horrendous, and the movement "No Room For Hate" is ringing ever clear along with #StandWithUkraine. I reiterate and will continue to say that it is vital for my readers to share #StandWithUkraine if they aren't already.
